My name is Jamie, and I am the owner of Be a Better You- Counseling and Referral Services. I have lived in Mason County for over 30 years and truly love our community.
I have life experience in the substance use world combined with an educational background in Substance Use Disorder Counseling and Social Justice. I am a public speaker and voice for those who feel silenced. I am the founder of the annual Mason County Overdose Awareness event and helped develop numerous programs.
I have experience working with incarcerated individuals in our prison system, jails, juvenile facilities and all different branches of the court system. I am a fierce advocate for individuals to live their life free of substances, and to their greatest potential. I have a passion for connecting individuals to resources and walking them to the process from start to finish.
I have worked with chemically dependent individuals that are homeless, incarcerated, business owners, doctors and people from all walks of life. Addiction does not discriminate on age, gender or financial status. We strive to be a 'ma and pa' style practice that is inviting and supportive of your recovery. We are down to earth and human just like you.
Our treatment focus is to be different. We strive to help individuals heal by meeting them where they are at in their recovery journey. We believe that addiction is the tip of the iceberg, it is what brings us to needing services. But we must focus on the entire iceberg, including what is under the surface. We achieve this through a holistic approach.
We promise to be there for you every step of your journey. Our goal is to help you grow, heal, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
